Bio
After retiring from volleyball following 4 seasons with the Oregon State Beavers
at the
Pac-10 D1 level, I spent a few years looking for what would be my next athletic
endeavor
trying everything from competitive CrossFit to running races and nearly becoming
a spin
instructor. In 2016, I found Muay Thai when I moved to San Francisco via
Groupon. I was
hooked from day one and wanted to learn to fight. Six months after starting, I
competed
in my first smoker and a month later traveled to Phuket, Thailand to have my
first Thai
fight at Bangla Stadium.
Upon returning to San Francisco, I spent the next 5 years competing and training
under
Lumpinee and Rajadamnern Champion, Bunkerd Faphimai at Fight & Fitness/Rise
Combat
Sports.
During that time I continued to take annual pilgrimages to Thailand to train and
was
saving
money working a corporate sales job in order to achieve my ultimate goal of
moving to
Thailand. Finally, in January 2020, I took the plunge, quit my job and moved to
Bangkok.
With the onset of the pandemic and Muay Thai shutting down worldwide, I moved
back to SF
later in 2020, where I continued to train with Bunkerd in his backyard and began
sharpening my kickboxing and boxing skills with Ty Sbano and Bubba Holland.
During this
time, I
managed Rise Combat Gym and taught private Muay Thai and Strength & Conditioning
lessons
in
order to keep myself afloat.
Finally, I was able to return to Thailand in September 2021, and have been here
ever
since
training at Phuket Singha Muay Thai and making fighting my full-time job.
